Is fall really here?! I hope so! In my opinion, it is high time the humidity, heat, and bugs take a little vacation. I will try to welcome them back with a smile next spring. But, I absolutely love cool mornings complimented by a hot cup of coffee, and I prefer sweats and a hoodie over shorts and a tank top any day.
John was in the Black Hills last weekend attending seed corn meetings. Although it was a little quiet without him, Gunder and I found some things to do to occupy our time. Gunny napped most of the weekend, but we also spent a good amount of time with John’s great aunt, Elsie. She is eighty-eight years old. We are so blessed to live right up the alley from her. She tells Gunny every time she sees him that she cannot wait until he runs up the alley to her house.
Today John worked cattle near Hosmer, SD. It would have been nice if I was able to help, but thankfully for wonderful friends, he was able to get all of the work completed. Gunny spent the day at daycare, which he loves, and I ran around at school like a chicken with its head cut off. All in all it was a nice day, and I am thankful for the constant excitement.
This evening is chilly, gray, and windy. I have a squash baking in the oven, and the house smells amazing. Fall really is just around the corner!
Have a blessed evening,
The Displaced City Girl
